Clean Up

Me: Soren, do you want to stay up and help Eyann clean up or would you like to go to bed right now? 
Soren: I'd like to wait to go to bed until Eyann is done cleaning up.

Tic Tacs

September, trying to entertain Soren for me: Soren, sit on this towel. Pretend it is a magic carpet. You are flying through the air. Do you feel the wind on your face? 

Soren: No. I don't feel the wind at all. 

September: Hold on to your carpet. Close your eyes. Here comes the wind! (She then gets real close and blows on his cheek.) Did you feel the wind now?

Soren: Yeah! The wind smells REALLY gross!

(And from the other room...
Zeke: Everyone in this house knows you needed a Tic Tac, Sep!)

Mystery Solved

I went in to check on Soren two hours after his bedtime.
Me: Why are you not sleeping yet??
Soren: (quiet for a few seconds) Hmmm. Just a minute. I will tell you. I gotta think. (Silence for a few more seconds) I figured it out! It's because I didn't close my eyes yet!!

I wanted the kids to start school. They didn't want to. I resorted to guilting them into it: 
"Do you think God created us to just sit around and watch TV all day? Is that what you think we're supposed to do with our lives?" 
And Zeke said, "Well, that...and eat lots of bacon and popcorn."
